Downloads Section

A downloads section is now available on the site. This feature is still under development and I am using my site as a guinea pig before I make it publicly available. All the downloads of the site are now accessible through this new section.

If you encounter any problems downloading the files drop me an email or post a comment. I would really appreciate it, if you include your operating system, web browser and which file was problematic.

Hey,

Great Social Bookmarks plugin! I plan on using it as I get my site fleshed out a bit more.

Out of curiousity, did you write the code for your download section yourself or is this another plugin I’ve not seen? I like the format and simplicty!!

The download counter and the download section are part of the front-end of a plugin that I am developing for sometime now. It is not yet available for download but I will need some testers when I am confident that it is stable enough.

Hi, this plug in looks great. When I tried to download it your site told me I was a “leecher”. I think this is because Norton Internet Security disables the referrer by default - something you must be checking. Anyway I mention it in case other people have the same problem. Disabling Norton, it downloads fine.

Also, I saw a comment in a previous post about OnlyWire - which I use. The api is simple and aggregtes many of the social bookmarking sites in the list ( http://www.onlywire.com/index?api in case you are interested).

Thanks

Paul

I surf from my laptop at home or about but I am generally logged into my colo’d server via ssh. So, when I want to download a package, I prefer to copy the link and then retrieve it with curl or wget. I do not want to be required to download the file onto my machine and then copy that file across the network again, to my server.

That doesn’t make me a “Leecher”. It does, however, make your retarded restrictions a real PITA. Please consider removing them.

Thanks,
Mr. Notta Leecher

I second the comments in #9 (although in slightly less colourful language). Your plugin is small, so it doesn’t take too long to download, but other downloads will be larger and I therefore need to be able to get at them using wget from my Linux server rather than having to download them to my PC over dial up in order to then upload them to my server (again via dial up); it could take me hours or minutes instead of seconds :(

I echo the comments in #9 and #10. Using

I echo the comments in #9 and #10. Using lynx, I get denied and now I have to wait till I get home to download the plugin instead of being able to implement it right now.

Your “leech” filter won’t let me download.

I’ve fallen victim to a great many of these filters, actually. I’m on the site, I click the download link.

I don’t know whay they don’t like me, but similar filters hit me all the time on various sites. (Are you using a WordPress filter? It seems to only be on WordPress sites — maybe it’s all the same plugin doing it….)

Anyway, I would love to download the Move Comments plugin, but I can’t. :(
